Our Mission

The Future of LIU Brooklyn Men’s Basketball Starts Now

College basketball is evolving, and at LIU-Brooklyn, we’re embracing the change. Coming off one of the best seasons in program history, with a winning record, four players earning All-Conference honors, and leadership from New York basketball legend Rod Strickland, the Sharks are on the rise.

But to keep building, we need you.

That’s where the Fins Up Collective comes in. We’re a dedicated group of alumni, fans, and local business leaders working together to give LIU-Brooklyn men’s basketball the resources it needs to thrive in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) era. Our mission is simple: help the program attract and retain top talent, support our student-athletes both on and off the court, and build a winning program that brings pride to Brooklyn and beyond. The Fins Up Collective is more than just a fundraising effort — it’s way bigger than that. It’s a chance for every Shark supporter to be part of something exciting and game-changing. It’s a movement for everyone who believes in Shark basketball and wants to see it succeed at the highest level.

We believe the Sharks can lead the way in showing what a successful, sustainable mid-major basketball program looks like in the NIL era and we’re just getting started.

Join us. Support us. Let’s show the world what “Fins Up!” really means.
